computer controlled cam or no?
ok i have a 305 tbi and i have new roller rockers, roller lifters, new heads with .560" lift springs on them. i was wondering should i stick to those camshfts that are computer compatible or does it really matter? i was going to look into an lt1 cam but the lift numbers are not close enough to max lift on my springs for me.

Re: computer controlled cam or no?
i bought a crane emissions legal camshaft for use with computers for my 350 non roller tbi, its runs pretty good. I also changed the computer toa 350 tbi computer out of a caprice though, but it ran good even without the computer swap
Re: computer controlled cam or no?
computer cams usually have very mild numbers with a 114-115 LSA. Easier to tune and offer a bit more TQ. Trade off is less horsepower. I believe comp cams offers the most radical hydralic flat tappet computer cam at 224/230 @ .05 114 LSA lift only .48 inch. If you step down the LSA to 112 you will find cams with more lift and more duration but harder to tune and less TQ. Are you planning on a computer roller cam? If so lift goes up duration goes up and LSA runs 112 on their bigger cams.
