Thinkning about buying this distributor from Jegs http://www.jegs.com/p/Proform/1151135/10002/-1 I just wanted to make sure that this thing will work with our 305's. I don't see a reason it wouldn't but just wanted to make sure there was nothing i was missing. Thanks

This distributor (141-681) will not work with your ECM. Based on a scant description it has adjustable vacuum advance which is typical for non-ECM based, carburetor applications.

If you want to keep TBI fully functional you'll need a distributor that has EST provisions. Mallory 8048204 is a direct replacement:

Melonized gear can be purchased separately (this subject has been covered extensivly in past post), just make sure that you measure shaft diameter as most aftermarket distributors use 0.500" diameter shaft and GM melonized gear P/N 10456413 has a shaft diameter of 0.491".

Re: Thinking about buying this distributor, any reason it wouldn't work?

Thanks for the heads up, did some research and it turns out your right. I went ahead and got a proform distributor that is correct for my application. Proform isn't a bad deal, it was only $150, and looking into it more i found out that the first distributor i was thinking about buying is actually a proform distributor, so even though im not getting a GM preformance part im still getting a distrbutor built buy the same company that is licensed by GM to make it's distributors.
