Re: surging idle/constant RPM
If I had to guess, which is mostly all that I can do over the 'net, is that there is a vacuum leak. Good possibility it is the gasket between the TB and intake manifold.
The reason I say this is that after the throttle is punched and the engine returns to idle there is a whistle sound (from about 37 seconds on to the end). I've found this to be either the TB base gasket has dried up and is leaking or the air cleaner assembly has been changed.
As for the air cleaner set up for some reason non-stock setups can cause a whistle. Not sure why, just that they can.

Re: surging idle/constant RPM
i dont have a stock breather, and i think i had it off on that vid....
it may be the gasket, but its new so im not sure, i need to hook my vac gauge up and see what im running in vac, see if its a little low
what whistle my be that power master alt also, idk why but all power masters seem to be a little louder than stock alts

Re: surging idle/constant RPM
had a similar issue, i would say a vacuum leak somewhere, try pulling codes too, my problem was a bad MAT sensor.

Re: surging idle/constant RPM
honestly it it sounds alot like mine did after I did the tbi mods and headers and all. I ended up haveing to set the comp into the feild service mode. use the jumper for the check engine while runing and back the throttle stop off a little. but mine also stumbled when in gear though

mine is stumbling at high rpms, so you put it is field service and set the idle screw???

Re: surging idle/constant RPM
My 2.hate S10 did that to me once (right at the same RPM). It was a hairline crack in the ign. coil. It would have been easy to spot on a scope but I don't have one. I popped the hood open at night and watched the little purple ants jump around on the coil.

Re: surging idle/constant RPM
Are the pcv/breather valves in the valve covers in decent condition still ?
Is the TBI unit crusted on the bottom in the sunken valleys?

Re: surging idle/constant RPM
PCV is new, crankcase breather is new, TBI is brand new...... i cant figure out why its doing this for anything.....all i can figure is the ing module, since it breaks up at high rpms to
