holley projection
nice nice intake. went together well EXCEPT for 2 things...... 1 was mentioned which is the fuel lines need to be rebent OR changed for braided ( I rebent) and on my 91 the throttle/kickdown bracket was too "short" I was about an inch to close to the throttle lever so I couldnt wide open and couldn't set my TV. I had to change it out to the Mr. Gasket bracket.
it runs alot better with the intake I just need to retune my timeing and mixtures. but it made it alot snappier

Re: holley projection
hmm nice, did you get the holley tbi unit? did you bore the throttle bores out?
also, how are things like the stock egr, coolant hoses etc working out?

Re: holley projection
ronny is that the holley tbi unit or are you running the 454 tbi as stated in your sig?
i'm curious to know if the stock tbi units will bolt up with this manifold.

Re: holley projection
Mine is stock GM 7.4L 1994-1995. (GM 80 lbs injs at 19 lbs FP).
I believe Holley(manifold and TBI unit) was a stock replacement unit for 350 CID trucks. Not sure if they ever intended it to be F Body application. I recall the package required an upgrade on fuel pump and used fuel pressure >20. Injectors I think were Holley 61 lbs.

Re: holley projection
I installed this intake a couple of years ago and had very few issues with the installation. I remember that it wasn't a straight forward replacement and a few modifications had to be made. As Ronnie said the you will have to rebend the fuel lines or replace with braided soft lines. I went the way of braided lines. The heater hoses also had to be routed differently. I am running the Holley 670 throttle body and as far as I could tell any stock throttle body will bolt right on to this intake. I chose this intake over the Edelbrock replacement because the bores are already 2" to match the throttle body.

Re: holley projection
ah that's what i was gonna ask next
thanks on the info on the 2" TBs. i was wondering if they are bigger than the one on the eddy manifold. the projection is also rated 0-6krpm whereas the eddy is rated 0-5.5k. do you think there's any real difference once the eddy is ported and bored to 2"?

Re: holley projection
I doubt there is too much difference once the eddy was bored out, but why add one more hassel to the project when the holley is already 2". From what I understand the eddy isn't a perfect replacement any more than the holley. Why add one more step by having to have the eddy machined.

Re: holley projection
couple new things but maybe it's just me. the throttle bracket that came with it was too close and I lost full throttle no biggy. MrGasket bracket made the angle alot cleaner anyway. and I just can't keep it running right. once it warms up it surges at idle in or out of gear, if it even stays running.
I am thinking the gasket didnt seal right cause last night it turned around and blew oil out the rear all over my exhaust......what an embaressment.
if I keep my foot in it and hold the idle at about 1200 it runs fine

Re: holley projection
Sounds like a vacuum leak. I would check all vacuum lines for possible cracks that may have happened during the install. Or maybe an unused vacuum port on the throttle body is not plugged off.

Re: holley projection
now see that is what I was thinking but I can't find anything with a whole can of carb cleaner.
think it could be a lower half of the intake gasket?

Re: holley projection
Port Size: 1.89” height 1.15" width. that is Holley. How does it compare with Edel or other manifolds as far as intake port size? I understand there are several Felpro gasket sizes to port match. Not sure what my head port size is?
Re: holley projection
My heads use gasket with 1.28 W and 2.09 height. So maybe my intake on head is a bit bigger than the Holley manifold? Maybe I should have ported the intake?

Re: holley projection
i believe the ones on the edelbrock are 42mm which is about 1.65". to my knowledge that's also the stock TBI bores width. you were talking about the throttle bore ports right!?
a bit of porting/gasket matching never hurts imho
i'm planning to do it, but it's probably not that much of a difference.

Re: holley projection
Does this manifold require any tuning of the chip?
Could you put a stock TBI on top of it with the 2" throttle bores?
