So the car after some tweaking and tuning runs really well now. However i have noticed a recent problem i can't seem to put my finger on. Its very erratic and doesn't seem to have a set time or condition when it happens. Every now and then It will lack power at on what my tach usually says is 3k. Sometimes its first gear, other times its 2nd gear. It will start pulling then fall on its face and just not go anywhere. At first i thought it was the trans slipping but it doesn't rev up or anything it just abruptly stops pulling like its hitting a brick wall. KInda feels like when you rev a tpi past 4500. Other times it pulls strong all the way to 5500-6 and will click 2nd and still pull. Other times it will pull through first fine, then go into 2nd and start its same routine. It doesn't seem to be affected by heat, sometimes it does it when floored on a cold start other times it does it after i had been driving it for awhile. I checked fuel pressure..holds fine at 22psi. Has new plugs and i just put a new cap and rotor on it. The wires are about a year old. However i remember when my wires went out..it would do something similar but it would break up real bad at high rpm, and miss pretty bad. But i figure i may try that next. Any ideas guys?

 

maybe this is not much help for you, but did you do a datalog or do you have a recent log representing this problem or condition? would be helpful imho.

 

i cant seem to get a datalog of it when it does it...i will try though
