ok hello all, i have a 89 camaro RS in mint shape and im looking to get a little bit more performance out of the engine. not alot, ill be more then happy with 275-300hp. the only problem is that the engine must be stock appearing. so far i have the option of building up the 305 or i have nice a 327 block w/vortec heads. i already have a set of extrude honed log manifolds, holley TBi kit with computer and a gm performance manifold already opened up to accept the holley tbi and will bolt up to the vortecs. so the obvious choice is the 327 but will the stock air cleaner assembly flow enough air to support those power numbers. it seems the first mod you do to these cars its chuck the stock induction setup in favor of a cold air or openelement air cleaner. if it is not possible i might have to consider sticking with the 305. i dont and probably wont ever race the car so having the power down low is really important too. also if anyone knows anything about the holley setup any input is much appreciated as i picked it up second hand and i dont know how well it will do with the emmissions equipment
