Please help i can't take it anymore with oil pressure problem.
HI everyone i have a 92 camaro 305 v8 tbi and i did some work to it. I put in a cam and had the heads redone and put new roller rockera and also i put on a new intake with throttle body spacer etc. So the other day i went to take it out for the first time and saw the oil pressure gauge kept getting lower and lower till it went to 0 once the car heated up. So I looked and saw on the front of the intake i must have not put enough of the silicone gasket maker and the oil was squirting out from there so i fixed that no more oil spitting out. Did an oil change and took it out again but the gauge is still doing the same thing. What should be my next plan or attack i was goin to change the oil pump but know think it might be the sensor for the gauge or the gauge itself or the sending unit. If anyone could point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it. I don't know but everytime i go to take out he car on a nice day something has to happen to it. It starts and runs great and the oil gauge it just abouve the 30 mark but once it warms up thats it no reading. I checked oil while cold and hot the oil level was fine and it wasn't being burnt off. Please help me in anyway possible.

well if you dont have a mechanical oil pressure gauge you can hook up then i would just try and change the sender, see how it does. if still goes low then you have a internal problem.

I personally have a issue with mechanical oil pressure gauges, since my old camaro was burnt to the ground because of a oil line to the gauge broke at the firewall. Most likely you do have a bad gauge so replace what ever is cheaper first and work your way up.
My car will drop oil pressure when it warms up but it stays at 40psi cold and right at 30 warmed up. But my car doesn't go above 160 and I use a heavier weight (10w40) and I overfill by about a quart to keep it at factory specs.

Is there oil in the air cleaner? Does it blow exhaust out the breather hose in the pass side valve cover?
