Anybody running a 350 TPI motor with ZZ4 cam & TBI
I just swapped a 350 TPI motor with ZZ4 cam into my 1992 TBI bird. I put some cop car injectors on it, but that's it. Just going to keep it this way for a little while until I can get a Holley Stealth Ram. Any way I'd just like to know if anyone has or was running this setup, and how it was for them . Also what they did to it . So far it is running fine, but it dumps way too much fuel at start-up. I will have it tuned in a month or so by a friend of mine, so I don't need to hear that it will need tuned. I am well aware of that. Just looking to hear some experiences so maybe I can learn something.

I'm running something similar. I have a 93 GMC with a 350 TPI motor using TBI and cop car injectors. I do not have the ZZ4 camshaft. I am using the stock TPI roller camshaft with 1.6 ratio roller tip rocker arms. I have headers flowing into a 3" single exhaust. I've made several adjustments to my PROM chip. I've been data logging with DataMaster software. The 1993 GMC has a MemCal chip ECM similar to the MemCal chip used for the Camaro TPI ECM. I have an Ostrich II PROM emulator from Moates.net.
On the initial data logging, the stock OEM PROM fuel map was rich at low RPM's and lean on high RPM's with my combination of cam - injectors - exhaust. I've changed the OEM PROM timing map to the TPI timing map. My Zero MPH to 60 MPH time is just over 7 seconds, not bad for a 5200 pound 4X4 truck. I've even surprised a few Dogde Hemi 5.7 pickups.

Thanks for the reply and info there Dave W. Sounds like your setup is very similar. I too am running shorty headers, no cat, single exhaust and a Flowmaster 1 in 2 out . Stock rockers for now though. I am in no way a tuner. I have a couple buddies who tune in the Saint Louis area who will do any of that. Are you going to do more tuning on it ?
