They are inside the car till right before the pump, then go threw the floor. You should check power at the pump connector where it plugs into the top of the sending unit in the tank. Make sure the ground is good too.
Have you tried sending power to the pump from the fues box/aldl port first. A lot easier than crawling under the car to probe wires.

Re: Need help
Does the fuel pump prime? If not, then you have a bad fuel pump relay or a bad ECM.
Did you check the fuse tucked in the fenderwell behind the battery?
Can also remove the oil pressure sending unit and test for voltage on the orange wire (or maybe the red wire). One of them comes FROM that fuse at the battery (and should have voltage) and the other goes TO the fuel pump - the oil pressure sending unit senses oil pressure and thus sends juice to the fuel pump through these wires.

Re: Need help
I checked the relay and it turns on, im getting power all the way to the plug that comes out of the firewall in the back of the car. Since im removing the pump i think i might put in a stronger pump. Any ideas on a pump i should get?

Re: Need help
If your dropping the tank, don't settle for junk. No need to pay stealershipprices, but at least get one from CarQuest or Napa. I replaced mine 3 years ago with a CarQuest part (which is AC/Delco) and haven't had any problems.

Re: Need help
You can use about any pump that is externally the same size or close to it. The regulator will not build more pressure than you need. I was running a 5.0 mustang walbro 190lph in my truck when I was TBI, it puts out 190lph at 45psi so at 18 psi I imagine it was putting out close to 250lph.

I replaced the fuel pump and now i have a bad injector, figures since the car has been sitting for years. Thank you for the help Drumer!!! Im pickign up 350 tbi for 25 bucks today so i hope the car will start after that for the first time in years!!
