Code 44; Hesitant take offs;Fine with map disconnected
Well gents Ive been sent his way by some guys on a truck forum, they say you all are the best in the game of TBIs. Boy do I ever need some help.
The truck is a 350 TBI in an 89 Blazer.
When the truck is cold, It takes 5-10 seconds to start and when It does, the idle will search up and down a range of 500 rpms, for the first few rpm dips, it needs gas or it'll die. If you try and drive it, it will hesitate on take offs and choke like its running out of fuel untill it decides to give it gas and then it takes off like a bat out of hell with no change in throttle position.
If I disconnect the MAP, It wont search during idle or anything, but it will only idle for 30-40 seconds before it dies. No other associated problems when running it like this.
The truck runs fine up high in the RPMS, so it wouldnt be the fuel pressure, would it? Ive heard someone say it could be the FP diaphram, and when its cold it shrinks and wont regulate the pressure right untill it warms up and expands to give the right fuel pressure.
The EGR is new.
IAC s new.
MAP is new.
TPS checks out good.
intake coolant sensor is good.
Timing is at 0* and still had facory tape around ECT wire.
Plugs and wires are new.
Maybe the Ignition control module?
Plugged all vacuum hoses with no changes.
