running 4 barrel tbi

hi guys and girls
it has been discussed before but i need more information. i am really interested in running the autonomics tbi (for those who have not seen it)

http://www.auto-nomics.com/cgi-bin/s...part=12168-001

i have looked at the three other posts i found but they dont answer everthing.

is the stock ecu capable of running the extra injectors (low imp)
or do you for sure need the injector driver box? this web site (below) i believe says you can run 4 peak and hold injectors or saturated which is the high impedance injectors. also do you need the iac it would be nicer but can you bypass it.

http://www.dynamicefi.com/InjectorDriving.php

i cant find any videos or pictures of this system running if you have one please post it.
thanks

My preference would use EBL but with port fueling.

Re: running 4 barrel tbi

tealrs, I took a look at the TB you linked too. It uses port style injectors, either low impedance or high (saturated). The stock '8746 ECM will drive four of the port style low impedance injectors.

These are between 2.2 and 2.6 ohms each. Two in parallel on each driver will work.

Could use saturated port injectors, but I don't recommend it. Takes too long to open.

RBob.

Re: running 4 barrel tbi

thanks for the fast reply's i like ebl, didn't know about that. i want to keep it simple for now, that will no doubt be the best route in the long run but i want to basically take the stock tbi off change manifold bolt 4 barrel one on splice two injectors per side and fire it up. i am hoping it that easy but that's why i bring it up.
so if i got some injectors like these (pt#306500 for example)
http://www.fuelairspark.com/Products...tors%27-0.aspx
i would wire two in parallel per side. lets say each had 2.2 ohms that would put a load of 1.1 on the driver per side and it would be able to dissipate the heat and not have meltdown. correct

Re: running 4 barrel tbi

The low impedance injectors will work without overheating and/or melting issues. However, you will need to tune for them. I'm not sure if you had that in mind or not. Note that the 4-bbl TBI is overkill for a L03.

If the plan is a hot 350, 383 or larger, then it is a good choice (even a hot 305 if the engine RPM range has been extended).

Re: running 4 barrel tbi

thanks for the reply. i don't plan on running it with the lo3 that would definitely be overkill. i got 350 i am eventually going to drop in but i want to get a little more knowledge of running the 4 barrel tbi setup. i was considering tuning would be the biggest issue.
