TBI cam upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade the cam in my 91 RS 305 tbi roller motor. I have some bolt on's like edlebrock tbi intake, edlebrock headers/exhaust, under drive pulley's, accel ignition and a chip in the computer. It's my daily driver, I have my 88 IROC-Z for the weekends. I'm thinking about getting a long block from a local engine shop and wanted to upgrade the cam a little while being able to keep the computer and everything still run good. Any idea's??

This is more TBI forum material than Engine Swap.

Moving.

Re: TBI cam upgrade

Your going to hear alot about the LT1 cam, however pretty much anything you go with is going to require a new chip. Good luck.

Re: TBI cam upgrade

I have ran a Mellings MTC-1 with the stock chip, with success. It gained a noticable amount of low-mid rpm power, but it would have benefitted from a properly tuned chip.

Re: TBI cam upgrade

comp cams suggests 206/212 at.50 112 LSA for TBI. you can keep your ECU regardless of cam choice. You will see max benefit from an improved chip with a cam swap.
