TBI running rich after rebuild.

It's a more-less stock TBI 350 bored 30 over with an "RV cam" what ever that is. I didn't pick the parts I just put it together. First off it runs rich at least at idle it does. We've tried a few thing and just can't make it run right. It has about as much high rpm power as one that's a little out of time which it's not. and as if that problem isn't bad enough it wont shift right either. It shifts way to hard. Okay I'll tell you where the problem started. After we got the motor back in some how we left the coil wire off and when it fired it back fed and killed the module so we put a new one in and it still didn't fire. So we thought maybe it hit the ECM too. So we bought a new one and it still didn't work. well we got to looking and someone (me) forgot to plug in one of the wires one the new module. So we plugged it in and it fired and ran (bad) so we timed it (ran better but still not quite right) broke it in and here we are. So if I had any ideas left I would be going on about this on here.

Re: TBI running rich after rebuild.

did u try putting your old computer back in the truck? the new one may be wrong.
and u should be able to get rid of the hard shift by adjusting the shift cable if the truck still has a 700r4

I forgot to up date this. We fixed the shifting problem The new knock sensor was bad and was putting the trans in fail-safe and making it shift like that. Yeah I'd never heard of it either but I have a buddy that rebuilds transmissions and he told me to try that and it worked. but it still wont run right we haven't figured that one out yet... Thanks though!
