So i have been wondering if it is worth it to make this Power Bulge hood air cleaner functional and use it... but im wondering what kind of gains i will realisticly have if any at all... I am using a Duel snorkel air cleaner on my 305 TBI at the moment.

To my understanding the lid to this Power Bulge hood air cleaner can be used on my duel snorkel...

Will i see a difference in performance?

Can i get some Pro's and Con's and Opinions.

 

Somewhere on this web site I found a link to a diy on making the power bulge functional. If I remember correctly they had a tbi 350 and claimed 19 hp at the wheels on a dyno test. I did it to my 89 formula 355 tbi and it did seem to add some more snap. I sealed off the snorkle and only use that system now. If I can find the link, I will try to post it. I have to believe it will be better than your dual snorkle, so much more air can flow in, and if done right it's a lot cooler.

 

I opened up my power bulge and use an open element, it sounds like a supercharger in traffic.. If only they knew the truth..

 

i have the duel snorkel air cleaner with the power bulge lid.. and the unit.. mine isnt making a super charger sound.. are you sure its not your alternator?
