'92 RS stalling under heavy braking

Hi, I've recently got my car back on the road after a few weeks being stood up while changing the rear wheel bearings/seals.

When I come to a stop quickly (which I try not to do but sometimes you can't help it) it has been cutting out. It started by the revs dropping and almost cutting out but now most the time it'll cut out straight away, it's seem to only do it when I've been driving for awhile when it's warmed up. It'll usually start again straight away, but due to issues I'm having with my starter motor sometimes it won't crank at all but I think this is a seperate issue.

I did have issues at xmas when it would cut out and that was fixed after changing the ECM but that time there was no fuel either. I have removed the EGR valve and blanked it off, but it had been running fine for a few months like that. Could it be to do with the Idle control?

Thanx.

Anybody got any ideas?

I unplugged the Idle control valve and started the car and it idled at about 2,000rpm, plugged it back in and it ran like normal...but it's still cutting out from time to time.
