Engine surges irraticly!!
In my '88 S/C with an L03 my engine runs fine most of the time, but sometimes when it starts my engine idles from about 500rpm to 1000rpm and tries to die. Then it starts to die as soon as I shift into reverse as well. Once I get back into drive my engine surges and car barely moves. After about five minutes of this she finally starts to run right, any ideas? I have no idea where to start and I'm tired of being late for work due to this problem.

Paperclip is your best friend - keep one always in the center console for this:

Re: Engine surges irraticly!!
I have a twelve pin connector but only have wires in the following locations: 1,2,4,5,6,7,12. I tried to jump from 6 to 12 and got nothing but two flashes from my S.E.S. light. Did I do it wrong or will it not work for my car. What other way can I get these codes to show up?

Maybe you just didn't get it right - try again. It's slow, so patience is in order.
Jump 6 and 12.
Turn key to on (not starting).
Watch the SES light - it will flash once, then twice, then pause, then repeat, then pause, then repeat - this is code 12, which means it's in diagnostic mode.
Then it'll pause again.
Then it'll flash codes, for example it'll flash 3 times, then 5 times, then pause, and repeat - this would be code 35 in the chart.
It flashes each code 3 times, then moves to the next code.
When all codes have been displayed, then it'll do the 1 2 code again 3 times.

O.k. I jumped from 6 to 12 and when I turn my key to the on position my service engine light flashes twice then stops. That is all it does. I watched for about five minutes and it does nothing....WTF?

http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16175 With the engine off, its easy to put on the fuel feed line (the one on top) right next to the alternator.
