I have a '92 camaro with the 305 and i have had some problems with it and now it runs great at idle but as soon as i put it in gear the check engine light will come on and it will die out. I am out of ideas and hoping that someone here can help out.

 

First, do you have any stored codes? This should be your first step in troubleshooting. It won't necessarily tell you what to do, but it should give you an idea of where to check for problems.
