Accetable knock count for a 305 TBI
Hello, I've a 1988 Firebird with a 305 TBI.
I'm setting the timing. OEM timing is 6° but I want advance timing to increase performance.
Actually with WinALDL after a 20 min driving with some mashings on the gas I take abot 18-20 knock counts. Is this value accetable?
What's the maximum accetable value for a 20min of driving??
Thanks
Giuseppe

Some of those counts are most likely from the starter engaging during cranking. While others are from the forced knock test that the ECM runs.
