hey

i swapped out my trottlebodies yesterday cause the butterflies stick on the original one.i first tried cleaning it,that didnt help then i tried alittle sanding and that didnt help.so i just figured id swap them.it runs alittle better with that one on it but,now it doesnt want to shft into second till its running about 25 mph.shift into 3rd about 40-45.what is causing this and what can i do to fix it?it shifts way too hard and im afraid that ill ruin the transmission.PLEASE HELP!

When you swapped TBI units make sure that your transmission linakge did not get hung up on anything. It is easy to do. Also, a few squirts of WD40 or equivalent should free up that throttle spring. Hit it with a wire brush first and it should free it up.

the sensors on the tbi was the same but the three prong plug is facing up unlike the stock one which was facing to the passenger side.could that have anything to do with it.im guessing that those are the tps and the iac,so i doubt it,atleast thats my guess im knew to the tbi!

does the TB have the same hose ports as your original one?

check for proper base gasket and seal

the TPS should be ok vertical or horizontal style.

put your known good IAC in the "new" TB

At the end of the day, relook at your "old" TB and find out the problem and fix it.

was the linkage exactly the same length. was it off another third gen or a totally different vehicle. the should all be near the same.
