I was wondering if this is something you can get rid of or bypassed or relocated?

this is your air diverter. its connected to your exhaust manifolds and they would have to be plugged if you remove this. depending on state you are in you will have a good chance of not passing smog depending how good of a cat you have and if you are running clean to begin with.

btw post some pics of the vert i just bought an 89 vert as well

It's in the way of my dual snorkel plan, I guess I just open up the bolts and move it out of the way a little bit...
