Yup. Basically you can rig a wire up but not recomend for long term driving. Or you can purchase a chip with the governor deleted.

I don't anything about the EBL system, but it should, I would think it could.
But really.....All it takes is a toggle switch & a little wire, to defeat the Speed Limiter. And splicing the wires in.

I don't understand why you want to disable the governer? When i had my 305Tbi 700r4 2:73 gears i was hogging down the road at 110mph and was damn near red lining in 3rd gear.... So wouldn't you blow the engine up if you kill the governer?

Re: how do i get rid of 110 mph governer
The 110 limit is tire related, it became illegal to let a car go faster then the tires are rated for on it. [people sued] As they often went cheap, 80MPH tires on a car with a 140 speedo.

The SPEED LIMITER speed is set in the chip, and needs to be adjusted in the calibration and burned in the chip.
Of cours you can delete the VSS signal to the ECM (like in the tech article), though TCC will be disabled that way and the converter slipping.
If you have EBL flash, you can set the speed limit at around 250mph. Takes 20 seconds to set it up and load the new calibration.

Yeah it would be hard to blow up. Your trans shifts at 90 but the car still cuts out at 110 there sir...so unless you had it burned from the chip, have ebl flash, or run the wire that cuts off the signal. you cannot go past the 110 in a 305 tbi car

Re: how do i get rid of 110 mph governer
I discovered mine in my 1992 305/TBI/T5/3.08 RS at about 2AM against an import. And this was before the Tech Article on TGO even existed.
I discovered the wire mentioned, did it & Brad wrote it up for TGO.
I was winning, until the I hit the Limiter & the engine cut out.

Re: how do i get rid of 110 mph governer
True, my shifts were 1st gear-40mph 2nd gear-60mph 3rd gear-110<---way out of powerband from 2nd to 3rd shift, note this was with me shifting myself at 4500rpm. Now i have to ask, how many RPMs can a stock LO3 throw down before it throws a rod? I know my 5.7 can can hit 6k safley, 5500rpms would be my guess for a stock lo3 and thats pushing to it's limit. So pinging 3rd gear at 4500 rpms would leave about 10-15mph gained disabling the governer to reach 5500rpms, so 125mph and that's it. Unless you do the od 4th gear WOT mod which is a complete waste of time for a stock lo3 IMO.

Re: how do i get rid of 110 mph governer
I remember the stock LO3 configuration, required almost constant WOT to drive @ around 125mph.
With headers, 3" cat, 3" catback with 2x2.5" tips, coustom chip and free flowing air cleaner, it was no big deal to cruise @ around 125mph @ around 3500rpm in 4th. (700r4 + 2.73)

I see no difference other then the bore and piston size, they have basically the same block and internals materials.

I'm sure you can with chips and mods, i would cruise at 60 at 2000rpm in 4th gear so that must be one hell of a chip to make the transmission gearing change from stock.
