engine ticking

Hi i have a 350 tbi and when you start it its fine for about 20 minutes but once warm and usually on the highway i get a nasty ticking noise and loose most of my power. if i turn it off and let it cool its fine again until it is at running temperature again. oil is fine temp is fine. Could it be my injectors? i cant feel the noise when i put my hands on the injectors what else could it be?

Re: engine ticking

well oil is fine but is the oil pressure fine? oil warms up thins up a bit, then any loose components show. Even lifters can do that also. make noise as they are warm.

Re: engine ticking

I guess if its loud enough, it could cause the knock sensor to retard the ign. timing. I'd pull the valve covers & check for loose rockers, is this 350 from a truck? Might have a flat tappet cam. Might have worn lobes.
