Just picked up a yellow 86 Iroc. The guy swapped it over to a carb from a TPI. Has a Quadrajet on a truck motor that he got from a junk yard. Has shorty headers with no exhaust. Body is in great shape, paint is ok. The trans starts to slip after it get warmed up good. Temp gauge does not work.Paid $500 for it. Does that sound like a good deal? Body has 118,443 miles on it. Dont know a thing about the motor yet.

I cant say you got a killer deal. But it runs and drives so not bad. Sounds like its going to need some tranny work...dont know why they'd switch from TPI to carb...If you need carb information thier is a Carburetor part of this forum, TPI section is above the TBI section where your at now.

 

Thanks. I will check the carb forum later. i need to make a list of what all parts I need. Its been sitting for over a year now. Going to take the carb a part and clean it and drain the gas. The gas going in to the clear fuel filter is brown.
