i have a 87 camaro with the 5.0 LG4 4bbl and i have an engine, 5.7 from a 1992 chevy 3500 tha needs to be rebuilt anyways . i was wondering i there is a way to convert the tbi to carb, so that i could add more performance parts to it. i've heard that the tbi's are bad for peformance upgrades. So how much work would it be to make it an ordinary carbed 350? because i plan on making it into a 383. Also i dont want to have to go through the whole car and switch things, just to have the tbi. Thanks for any advice given!

 

hundreds of threads on this. do a TBI's arent bad for performance upgrades. But anyway. Thier is a thread like 8 down from this one someone asked this same question.

 

What I think is funny about these threads, is that they ask on a TBI board. Why wouldn't they go to the carburetor board and ask? The folks here are TBI, not carb.

TBIs aren't bad on performance upgrades, and they don't really have anything to do with the upgrades unless you are planning on upgrading the actual fuel injection, the TBI engines just weren't made that great by GM, because they were put in lower performance cars, so the actual TBI unit isn't bad with upgrades, it's just how the engines with the TBIs were made that arent too good
