1987 chevy

I bought this 1987 chevy that had a 305 to 350 engine swap.350 came out from a 1994 chevy this engine has an egr with a letter n at the end i guess it makes it a negative egr now the big question is why does when i put the truck on gear with the parking brake on and press on the gas pedal just a little the egr valve opens all the way killing the engine?i put the original egr valve for a 305 tbi engine which is a positive egr on the 350 and it ran perfect but, the ecu is a 1227747 with 305 prom on it .i got another 1227747 ecu with 350 prom (anly) that came out of a 1989 suburban it does not like the negative egr it will work with the positive one but once i pass over 55 mph i will get a code32 i can always stay with the 305 ecu but after trying the suburban ecu i really like it. it sounds stronger and feels stronger when i drive it .any help will be greatly appresiated..

Re: 1987 chevy

I placed a 1995 TB/EGR on my 1984 Chev. It had a different wiring schematic. I was able to figure it out. A service manual helped. My connections are in a post here about 3 years ago. search.
