Re: Front Acc help
if you've got a serpentine setup (and 92 does), you can't run a vbelt because your water pump is reverse rotation. if you got an older pump (87 or older iirc), you should be ok, but you'll have to get creative with pulleys since all of them will need to be changed.

Re: Front Acc help
Not sure you can delete the A/C and the smog pump without at least one delete pulley in place for one of them - thus why alot of folks but the A/C delete pulley and route the serp belt like www.thirdgen.org/serpentine
You can switch to a V belt setup, but this requires that you swap water pump AND p/s pump AND alternator, as well as the crank pulley AND all new brackets - you need accessories from a pre-1988 car. If even considering this noption, don't waste your time on any aftermarket p/s pump bracket except the March or the Billet Specialties brands - NOTHING else worked when I did this. Alternator brackets are easy, most any one of the aftermarkets fit well.

Re: Front Acc help
yea idk why im a dumbass and didnt think just throw a a/c delete pulley on there. this thread is completely stupid on my part. im soooo fing caught up in this wiring that for some reason i completely OVER thought the rest of the problems with the car. im sorry guys, but thanks for helping me get my head out of my *** lol
Re: Front Acc help
there is no such thing as a stupid question or idea as long as you are open to suggestions. period. now when i did my a/c and smog pump delete i ordered the a/c delete pulley. now this is going to hurt but oh well. i made a bracket at work for the smog pump delete and it has a __ford idler pulley on it___to keep the belt from bouncing. but there have been a number of people that have run the belt the rerouted way without problems.

Re: Front Acc help
Yes you have to do a a/c delete pulley..well that is cheapest option. and I did not install a fixed idler for my missing smog pump and I have had no problems

Re: Front Acc help
yea ill prolly be a cheap *** and just run the ac delete pulley and if it starts wobbling and **** ill throw a pulley down there, but its only a stock 305 with headers so im not worried about spinning that big monster V8 out to 6k rpms and throwing belts off like my old 468 did lol
