Just a quick question guys. Could one effectively port the throttle body and replace with larger blades to allow for more air flow. Mind you I'm running a stock l03. Also, would I have to change the tuning on my compter chip? I don't particularly have the cash to change my whole intake manifold or put a bigger throttle body on quite yet. When I do actually just want to switch to a different injection type.

dont need bigger blades on a 305, the stock tbi flows more than enough. You can do the ultimate tbi mods which do let a little more airflow/less restrictive airflow and you'll be good.

 

I'm talking about how much air it would flow. Potentially increasing air flow.

 

You would increase airflow, you would also need more fuel. But what I am saying is the stock throttle body is not holding you back. You dont need to change it. a lot of guys have put throttle bodies on thier car and they end up being doggy because they have too much air, which takes away from throttle response. makes the engine more of a high rpm engine which these engines were not designed to be. so you'd be wasting time.

 

The most effective thing you can do to for your engine is make it tunable.

The most cost effective (and sensible) thing you can do for your throttle body is the common TBI mods.

If at some point in time you greatly improve your lo3's induction (change the cam, heads and intake manifold) you may want to look into one of the 46mm TB's from these fine folks,
