Hey guys, I was just wondering if I can swap in a L98 longblock (which I got CHEAP) into my TBI car. I have a completely stock L05 TBI setup in my Bird. Will this thing run or can I buy a chip somewhere that will remedy any problems I may run into. Honestly I would love to hear that this thing will run like a champ, but my common sense tells me otherwise. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

 

you can install it. You need to change the knock sensor, ESC module, and chip in your computer. It'll run fine.

 

don't forget to go from 40#hr injectors to 55#hr I can help you with a chip aswell as alot of members here !!

 

yup forgot about the injectors duh. you can even run 61# injectors if you have them, or have to buy some. that way you can do more mods to it

 

my car is also a l98 with a stock tbi system, i bought some 65# injectors from a member here and i have ebl installed but other than that i haven't done anything to the engine. bite the bullet an get a ebl system make your life much easier.

 

Stock 305 has 55#, stock 350 has 61#...Police package engines had 65 and 68# depending on the year.
