I've got an 89 firebird formula that has had a 350 swap. isn't completed yet, just thr injectors, the fuel pressure regulator, and a few little things to get it running reliably. only problem I'm having is that when I turn the car off after a period of driving (+40 min) the pump relay fuse by the battery blows. I'm not sure if its the pump or something electrically wrong with it. anybody have any ideas?

Does it blow when you turn it off or when you try to restart it?

it seems to be when I turn it off. id have to test it out to know for sure. and like I said, its only after about 40-45 minutes of driving

If it blows when you turn it off, I really do not know what could cause that. Possibly a wiring issue.

If it blows when restarting, when the pump is warm, then I would suspect a pump issue.

it quite possibly could be the pump. its been on there for 130k miles. a dirty fuel filter was suggested to me as well

nope, its happening when I turn the car off. but now more frequently. ill replace the pump and see if it helps. I've gotta change it later on anyways
