EBL tuning and engine knocking
ok so Ive been slowly tuning the TBI system with EBL and she runs and idles good and drives fine under normal driving and all. Im having an issue where I get ALOT of knock between say 2k rpm and 3k rpm. Its very noticeable to the ear and the knock count on the EBL goes crazy. Under full throttle throught this whole rpm range there isnt any knock and she accelerates great. Im using the timing table from the TPI 305 since im using those heads. Ive tried back the timing down in this area with no luck. Im wondering if Im missing a setting or have something out of wack. Also there is alot of white smoke on long low gear decelerations. Dunno if its related but it happens. I put a pic of the knock table from a data log but its not nearly as bad as it really is.

White? Are you missing coolant? Compression check with all the plugs out.
See if the log shows any abnormal activity @ knock point (o2/fueling and SA).

At 2700 rpm /95 map were you accellerating hard? Under a load? Were you under PE? I would think so. Could be real K or mechanical K. Consider pulling 3 ded at 90-100 MAP say over 2400 roms-6000 rpms and see if it goes away. If it does not impove could be mechanical.
On a modified engine/exhaust mech KC's happen.

Re: EBL tuning and engine knocking
It will knock if I hold the rpm at part throttle. Under full throttle she gets up without effort and no noticeable knock. I will data log it this weekend and look for the other things mentioned and post the log. We are expecting snow though. I haven't done a compression check and I don't loose any coolant other then the color is dark green/brown but I haven't flushed it since i started using the motor again after it sat for a year on my engine stand. I put a pic of the data log of this time to see if you notice something.

Steady-state, no load?
That, and the statement that you have tried removing SA with no improvement on knock counts would have me leaning toward mechanical knock.
Are you sure what you are hearing is detonation? Normally that happens on advancing throttle or load. Get a look at the plugs under magnification, tiny speckels indicate detonation.
