Porting 305 heads..
Is it worth porting the 305 heads? what gains would i see?
Or is better to invest in some new heads? I was thinking either porting or vortech heads..

I'd keep your 305 stock & get a 350 vortec engine (used, low mileage), get all the parts to make it run (intake, 350 tbi, headers, ect) & then do the swap over a weekend. A 350 is a big bang for your buck. Read the stickies.

If you want to get Vortec heads for a 305 you'll be best served by the 059 casting heads that came on Chevy trucks and Express vans up to like 2002.
