Hi i have a 1992 RS with the 305. The engine is currently stock , I wanted to know if i could change the regular air filter snorkel looking thing with just a straight up air filter. but there are two components that i see which are highlighted in the photo that i have no idea what to do with the i think (not sure ) that ones a air sensor excuse my ignorance but im in the learning process and really motivated to dedicate time into this , please any info will help i have highlighted the two components and found a picture online of what i want it to look like any help is greatly appreciated.[IMG]

Search on here for it. I believe there is a tech article on doing just that. I know you can just block off the vacuum line on the right, and the filter on the left can just stay there, or replace it with a better breather.

Start in the TBI forum, because a stock 1992 RS 305 does not have a carburetor.

hey that second pic is my car. block off the vacuum line going to the air cleaner. put a breather cap on the pass side valve cover. then install a drop base chrome air cleaner. just be very careful with the air cleaner as they rub the coil wire on the coil. as for the rest of my engine bay that is a lot of work. i have rerouted lines and redone my harness to clean it up a lot. but she is still tbi powered.
