305 TBI-400 carb engine & carb swap

305 TBI-400 carb engine & carb swap

Hi Guys,

After some searching, there seems to SOMETIMES, be issues using a return style fuel pressure reg with even the lower pressure TBI (not TPI) in-tank fuel pump when converting to carb.

I would be using a vac sec QFT annular discharge 750 on a mild 400 sbc, but some people with ex-TBI engines can not get there fuel press down to 5-6 lbs.

Any way to check the feasibility of a press reg install beforehand?

It's a '88 IROC 5 speed vert that's criminally slow, but operates perfectly.

I would post this question in the TBI board, since most of us here are still running TBI setups. As for not being able to get down to 5-6 psi, either they have a bad regulator or a restricted return line.
