replacing oil pan gasket

Is replacing the pan gasket hard? And is replacing the oil pump hard too?

Re: replacing oil pan gasket

not extremely hard. I think you have to jack the motor up to get the pan out. so you'd have to undo the motor mounts. make sure to have the hood propped up and possibly pull the dist cap off to make sure you don't damage that. I like to pull the pan off and let the engine drip over night so I can have a nice clean oil free surface for my new gasket and i really like those new 1 piece oil pan gaskets.
