Cold Air Intake '89 Z28?

Engine: V8 5.0 305 TBI
Cold Air Intake '89 Z28?
I am rebuilding my 89 IROC Convertible (305 TBI) that has been sitting in my garage for 10 years. I got it running again and I have been wanting to put in a cold air intake.
I am an extreme novice to cars so I may be asking a dumb question, but can't I put a CAI in this car? I ask because in searching google I can't really find anyone selling a CAI that will fit in it nor anyone that is running one. The best I found was a 'hose' with a filter.
From what I have gathered in pictures people tend to put them in and replace the battery with the CAI. I am not opposed to putting the battery in the trunk (use to have one in there anyway) but I saw some pics of what appears to be a CAI that had a plastic Y looking vent that went to the radiator area. Anyone have a clue what I am talking about?
