best upgrades to make horse power from a tbi 383
Ok just got my 350 four bolt main back from the machine shop and it is now a 383 with a new eagle rotating assembly in it and need help finding the right combo with heads, intake,tb,and cam. my friend has some trick flow heads specs are 202 165 and 65 cc combustion cambers that hes is giving to me fully assembled so that could be one thing out of the way

Can you re-state what the specs on those heads are? For a healthy 383 you're going to want around a 200 cc intake runner for it to breathe at higher RPM (4500+).
I'd strongly caution you against keeping the 2-barrel throttle body setup unless you have a very good compelling reason. Such as...
- You need to keep it to pass emissions
- You want to be "different"
- You're already an expert TBI tuner
Even the Holley (or GM 454 TBI) isn't capable of providing the air and fuel flow for a 350, let alone a 383. You'll be able to get it to run, but you'll be throwing away horsepower. No questions asked. And who wants to do that?
If you can get rid of the EFI, a Holley / HEI distributor combo is hard to beat for simplicity and functionality. With a good set of heads, a healthy cam, and a dual-plane intake you can easily make 450-500hp and keep it streetable.
Good luck!

What kind of pistons do you have? what's your compression? what kind of lifters? Get rid of the TBI.

ok so the people i read on other sites about having 383 tbi motors pushing 400 to the wheels are lying? and i think they are 185 cc intake runners not to sure but it will have a 10.7:1 compression .30 over sb 350 pistons and the lifters that depends on the cam you guys would suggest so not sure

400HP at the wheels with a pair of stock injectors even at increased fuel pressure is very doubtful. Ask for 1/4 mile slip or dyno spin data. I'll quickly see how silent they become. In reality a well built 383 with pair of BBC 80, 90 lb/hr injectors (with VRFPR) will get you easily 350 to 375 HP at the flexplate on pump gas. You simply have to go through basic fuel delivery calculation to see what mathematically is possible with a pair of injectors. Assume 15 to 17% driveline losses for automatics and little bit less for manual gear boxes.
In my truck I run 383 built as follows:
4-bolt mains, 880 block, 30 over, deck milled 9.005, quench 43mil, clearanced for stroker crank
TrickFlow cylinder Heads, Super 23® 195, Fast As Cast®, Aluminum, Assembled, 62cc, 2.02/1.60
Probe FPS forged pistons custom pocket milled for -18cc (9.8:1 with 0.039 head gasket)
3.75 9000 series Scatt crank with 6" rods
Roller 08-502-8 Comp Cam
Stock TBI intake bored to 52mm
1" spacer
BBC TB with VRFPR. Originally equipped with 80 lb injectors, but later I switched to 61lb for stable idle. Engine is used under 5000 RPM so that additional fuel is not needed. I run EBL and WBO to dial my 383 in. I run about 16 PSI at idle and about 26PSI at WOT. I took a bit of trial and error to get FPR spring just right.
Full length headers dumping into 2-1/2" dual exhaust - Delta 40.
No HP measurements, but I would conservatively estimate 325HP at about 3500 RPM, at the flexplate, burning regular gas. More than enough for towing and hauling duties.

You need to go to a 4 barrel throttle body, Holley works good on a edelbrock intake performer or Airgap dual plane. You would need an aftermarket ECU. Or you could go cheap with a carb, but the stock TBI isn't going to cut it.
