Has anyone done TBI swap on 260-289 Ford

I am helping cousin restore his 63 1/2 Comet with 260 V8.
He's been helping me do GM restorations for years and was wondering if we could convert his Ford to GM TBI.
Has anyone done this?
Thanks,
Ron

Howell Electronics has been doing GM swaps into non GM cars for years. Popular one is an off road Jeep. All you need is a fuel pump ECU harness sensors TB with adapter for manifold, and a few other odds and ends. If you want spark control you will need a distributor that provides a reference signal to the ECU. Not sure how that would mate with ford intake

Re: Has anyone done TBI swap on 260-289 Ford

Im running TBI on a 78 F150 with a 351M. I'm running a chevy 350 manual transmission computer and triggering the chevy ignition module with the stock ford duraspark distributor. The purple or purple/black wire from the duraspark distributor's pickup goes to the "p" terminal and the orange or org/black goes to the "n" terminal where the stock gm pickup coil went.

Other than that I swapped the entire harness and every sensor straight on with a holley or transdapt carb to tbi spacer (just get a 2 or 4 barrel spacer to fit whichever intake your running.

The duraspark distributors came in ford cars and trucks from 76 til about 84-86 so just get a distributor from a 76 ford truck with a 302 and it'll swap right in. You just have to tack the advance mechanism so it is locked out and the GM computer will control timing.

A ford 302 mutiport injection setup may or may not be an easier swap though the intake and everything will bolt on the 260. Ford computers aren't quite as tunable as the GM from what I've seen though. The main reason I went GM vs Ford for injection is that ford never injected the Clevland or modified engines so the TBI was an easier swap for me and I just wanted a truck that wouldnt stall when I was hanging off a mountain cliff while four wheeling.
