Help with LU5 TPS voltage
Hopefully I'm posting this in the right forum - - I've been restoring a 1982 Recaro T/A (Crossfire) for the past year and had it to the point where it was running fairly well. Recently, though, based on the way the motor was idling and accelerating, I decided to check the TPS. Voltage, even with rotating the TPS up and down, was between 4-5 V, well above the .525 (+ or - .075) in the manual. Thought I would solve the problem by installing a new TPS, but the voltage is still excessive and the idle and acceleration have not improved. I'm using a standard multimeter and out of ideas at this point on why the TPS voltage is so far out of range. Thanks in advance for any help on this issue!

Re: Help with LU5 TPS voltage
Just curious - do you have the multimeter set correctly?
Put it on the battery or a definite 12 v source and see what you get. If it reads high, you might need to adjust the voltage range setting.

Thanks and good question, because I've been humbled too many times working on cars! Pretty sure though the meter is set correctly because I checked it on the battery as suggested. Will try to troubleshoot over the weekend. Jim
