That being said, I've been apprised that here in TX, vehicles 25+ yr's old,
are not subjected to a sniffer emissions test, just the safety inspection.
And since mine is a 90, I'm hoping that's truly the case.
(Like to hear from anyone who can shed more exact light on this
TX. issue,)
PS. In the process of cleaning out the garage, & I have an old HEI w/ wires,

No sniffer test but a visual that any emission equipment is still there is all Texas state requires on 25+ years old. That's straight from the TXDOT web site. A City my have an ordinance but do your inspection outside of city limits. Hope that helps
