manifold question
Right now I am running an all stock LO3 with a 14X3 open air element in my 88Formula.
Would Edlebrock's Performer Intake manifold be a good step for me, or would anyone suggest something else???
Is the performer going to sit my Throttle Body any higher than it currently is??? I can barely fit the open air now???
In the future i am possibly looking at putting in a 350. Will my TB and performer intake fit right on???
Thanks
KZ

the edelbrock performer tbi would be a big help for your motor. i think it is 1/4 inch taller than stock. several people are running them underneath stock hoods though, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have the Performer TBI intake. It is about 1/4"taller than stock.I went to a flat bottom air cleaner and removed the spacer to get it to clear the 14x3" element.Mine's on a 350,so yes it fits either motor.

Kurt,
The intake is a good starting point as well as a good 3" cat-back and the Ultimate TBI stuff...the TBI mods are all free and i got about a tenth or so outta them...another big improvement for your car would be a posi and gears...last time i checked with pork and jimmy they said u weren't modding your car but since your interested there's a lotta stuff we can get done to that heap...tons of free and very cheap mods

Randy -
Who doesnt mod an LO3? I just don't really have the time or money to do such things. I already have a 3.73 Posi in my garage that I am neglecting to put in, and my exhaust is goin so I am planning for a highflow cat and 3inch back with prolly 80 series flows. That coupled with the 14X3 open air and the TBI mods when i get pork's Throttle Body i think i should be pretty much set.
***If I ever get my *** in gear***
Other dreams include dropping in the .030 over 350 out of my brother's suburban. But that is distant, if even gonna happen. My heap will move soon ...
