TBI Spacers

Hi.. I have an 89 RS with a 305 TBI. I have had great difficulties finding some place with a TBI Spacer . I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions... Thanks in advance..

Sure spacers are worth it they add more plenum volume for your cylinders to draw air/fuel from.

"Worth it" is going to depend on what you pay for it.. I wouldn't call $70 for the marginal gain you get "worth it". Make your own, that's "worth it". That's why you get different responses.. people have different ideas of "worth".

This is true but too far and the fuel falls out of suspension = crappy idle quality and off idle is so so.
I consider the spacer a tuning aid. WOT and a cam to match, yeah, the spacer could help a little. Worth it, I dont' think so. For the price of 2 spacers you could have a homemade spacer and a new intake and make your own adaptor plate = WORTH IT.
Don't forget the price of the gasket kit which isn't cheap.

I had a great experience with a spacer. I think the reason was because of the engine changes I had done. My car used to run really crappy until it was fully warmed up. The spacer changed that dramatically. I attribute the difference to the engine mods increasing the speed of the fuel mixture causing the fuel to hit the floor of the manifold. I made a 1/2" spacer and was amazed at the difference so I made a 1" spacer and cant say I saw any additional change.
I was skeptical about how much good it would do because I'm the type to figure "if it's that good, the factory would do it" but since I have access to machine shop and aluminum plate, I decided to give it a try.
Is one worth the money? Everybody's value of money is different. I got the gaskets from GM dealer for $2 each. Yes, $2.

I don't know how you can compare the cost to an new manifold and adapter when manifolds alone are over $100. And my idle and off idle is terrific.

I'm not trying to rip anyone but the value of any change needs to be looked at in regards to what is already there. For a completely stock engine, maybe not. But then, I don't believe a manifold alone would provide much difference either.

Yeah I agree having a new intake will do wonders since the stock unit cannot breathe in the upper RPM's
