I have a 91 Camaro and plan on dropping in a 350 with AFR 190's, and 454 TBI with #90 injectors. NOw i need a manifold. i live in CA so i need a street legal manifold. All the TBI manifold i have seen will not fit the 2'' bores of the 454.Is it possibl to switch to a carb manifold with EGR. If so what kind of things with i have to change or do i just buy the manifold, adapter plate then hook it up?

 

call a local Smog referee if you can use a legal carb intake with an adapter. There is a 50 state legal Holley carb intake that looks exactly like the non-50 state legal Holley TbI intake. I think the only differance is how they macine the top. Either for carb or TBI.

 

The intake ontop (TBI or carb) has nothing to do with the EGR. If you're heads have EGR then you can almost always find an EGR intake manifold. The Holley is a good idea since their emissions intakes seem to be a better choice.
My question is what cam are you running in that 350 to need 90# injectors and you're worried about emissions?!?!
Those 90# injectors are ment for some crazy displacement and horsepower above 400. I hope you get into eprom burning or you're going to have a bitch of a time getting that engine to idle and cruise well with those injectors.

 

a 400hp small block 350cid chevy is by no means radical. 90pph injectors are essentially req'd for more than 350hp.

JP, if you massage your 330hp/350cid Vortec heads (studs/springs/valve guide height), put a ZZ4 cam with 1.6/1.5 roller-rockers in it and have good intake and exhasut you are a shade away from 400hp, if not above!!!

 

well i am trying to get 400HP. i have not yet desided on a cam. But it will be able to give me 400 horses...emisions legal or not. With a rebuilt 350,AFR 190's, emmisions legal cam, Carb intake, 454 TBI with 90# injecors you think i will make 400? I mainly ust want to be able to pas the under the hood inspection, i think i wil be able to ake my car run lean some how to pass the smog part....so any ideas on the intakemanifold?
