Cheap way to free up power?

I've been seeing deletes for everything lately and I've been wondering, what can I do to free up some power on my car? What "deletes" will make a difference? I have a 1992 Camaro RS with a 305 TBI, thanks in advance

Virtually nothing that's going to be legal.

You can delete the AIR system, but it won't gain you much. Biggest restriction on that motor stock is the exhaust system, but you'll be limited by the heads pretty quick after you do an exhaust.

So if I end up deleting the AIR system what will I need to do other than take the pump out, I've seen others use shorter belts rather than a delete pulls (which I would prefer) but is there a downside to it? There's no emissions testing here, so I'm not worried about that, but will it run fine? Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Pulling the air pump accomplishes nothing other than reduces clutter, so leave it on. A larger exhaust will do nothing with the amount of horsepower you are currently making, other than sounding better. If you're not going to invest in heads/cam, and you are just looking to free up a little power with what you got, then focus on freeing up the air coming into the engine and keeping it cool throughout. You can also tweak your spark tables, and maybe even your cam timing. Other than that, your not going to find any real power doing anything else. Meaning, so long as your engine is getting enough fuel for the air it is ingesting, then it is what it is, unless you increase that air...

Read the sticky in the exhaust forum, covers it pretty well. You'll need to remove the pump, lines, plug up any holes in the exhaust system, & re-route your belt & get a different length belt.
