L98 conversion to TBI
I have a 1988 base camaro. It has the LO3 305 tbi and a 700r4. Ive been flirting with a rebuild for awhile now and have recently come across a 1988 IROC Z with a L98 350 TPI, also with the 700r4. Is it possible to rebuild the l98 and replace the tpi with the tbi from my lo3 using the stock set up and computer? (this is my first rebuikd and i want to keep it simple while increasing my hp)
What else would I need granted that it is possible? and are the fuel/air mixture the same for 305 and 350?

You would need larger injectors. The 88 tbi ecm ( 1228063) is a one year only ecm not much support for it. You can plug in a 89-92 (1228746) ecm and 350 prom from a caprice or have one custom made for your setup.
Or you can replace your fuel pump and repin c100 if applicable and run tpi.

Given the nature of TPI, it wouldn't surprise me to receive improved fuel economy as a bonus.

The TBI will get better mileage, TPI more midrange torque. TBI can support more HP more cheaply.
