should there be a ground wire

should there be a ground wire between the distrbutor and the engine on 1993 chevy siverado pick up truck with a 5.7liter engine

No. There was a ground strap used that may look like it came from the distributor. Bolts to the cylinder head and then to the firewall. I'ts possible that someone grounded the distributor.
