Renegade manifold, do I need the Swirl mixers from the original manifold
Hi all, ive got some major engine mods for my 83 Trans am but just wondered if anyone has experience with the renegade manifold and whether they kept or made new swirl mixers that go under the throttle bodies? Ive seen modified ones when people have ported the original manifold but cant find any reference to using them on the renegade.
Thanks in advance.

Excellent, thank you. Looking forward to this build. Ive built plenty of rally and race 4 pot motors (my 1.6ltr mk1 ford escort is upto 198 bhp at the crank) but this is the first serious V8 ive done.
Ally heads with 2.02" valves
10.5cr forged pistons
H section rods
XFI 252 H cam
Renegade manifold
2" theottle bodies
87 fuel pump.
Ive already got headers and full exhaust system so hoping for a healthy bump in power.
I know its frowned upon but ive gone for a hypertech thermomaster chip to see if it'll handle it. If not i'll put in an omex ecu (which I have experience tuning) which will handle all of its needs and my friend has an identical 83 trans am so he will have my chip if all else fails. I'll rolling road it once done and post up the results.

Hope it all works out for you whichever way you decide to go. Good luck with your project.
