How Do I repalce the Injectors

OK I am going to purchase the 350 GM injectors, I have changed my Fuel pressure regulator over to be adjustable so I know how to take the top of the TBI off. Now what is the process to get the Injectors out and is there anything I need to do to put the new ones back in.

Thanks

Get yourself a TBI rebuild kit because you will probably, though certainly not definitely, tear one or more of the o-rings as you remove your injectors. Put a rag down in the bores of the TBI to stop stuff from dropping past the butterflies. Lay a screwdriver across the tower and then lay another screwdriver perpendicular and on top of that so that you can pry up on the injector itself. There is a little ridge on the injector to pry up on. Replace the lower o-ring/screen on the injectors. Replace the o-ring and thin metal "washer" at the top of the injector bores. Place the injectors back in the bores making sure to note the little notch and the little "sticky outy thingy" on the injector itself. Push them as far down as you can but in all likelihood you won't be able to get them to "click." Get a phillips screwdriver and a small hammer and tap the injector into the bore, seating it - you'll be able to tell because it'll make a deeper "thunk."

Enjoy,

Steve

yeah, definitely get a rebuild kit. the main gasket for the injector pod will be messed up without a doubt.

make sure that when you reinstall the injectors that you dont get the o-rings messed up. when you do it, you will kmnow what i am saying. its easy to push the injector into the pod and "mis--align" the o-rings.

not sure if tapping the injector into place is a good idea...maybe but i just got them in as far as i could with just my hands, then when i put the top of the pod back together, as i tightened the screws, they just went into place.

whatever you do lube the o-rings with ATF or regular silicone lubricant, you can run the risk of smashing them, and then you'll be back to square one, i know cause i did it once, and once is enough, and if the top injector pod roof doesnt seat flush to the whole injector itself the injectors are not properly seated, and you will crush a o-ring when you tighen it down , so make sure there is no gap when you tighten the screws!!!!!!
