Idler pulley

Got a new pulley because of the old one going bad, but now when i tighten it, i can either watch bolt back itself out, or the pulley wont spin at all. Is there a torque spec? Do aftermarkets need that center cap on the original? Or should i just washers to backside? Reading all sorts of stuff

WHAT CAR?

WHAT BRAND/PART NUMBER PULLEY?

Sounds to me like you have the wrong pulley for the application.

Re: Idler pulley

Update, tried without stock dust cap, tightened bolt hand tight plus a little bump on wrench, and it spins just fine
