Ordered tuning equipment, Will be starting soon

I will be new to tuning, This is a 93 g20 van with a 305 and 4l60e. So far it has a summit 1102 cam, vette servo, and will have a true dual exhaust monday. I have a set of tuned port 305 heads that will be going on in the spring. As you can see this is mild build. It does run good as is. What I wanna do first is raise the rev limiter and set my wot shift points to around 5200-5300 rpm to start and work with it to make the 4-3 shift with less throttle when pulling hills. Its still pulling as it shifts at wot. As I get familiar with it I will move to fueling and so on. Anyone know of a decent bin I can find that is similar to get me started? I will be taking my time with this as not to mess anything up. Any input, tips or tricks is much appreciated.

Way too many variations of the stock chip to just grab a bin. Best to read the stock one and modify from that. I can tell you the thing wil most likelyl want practically a flat line at 26-30° of timing at WOT from 2,400+ RPM in the 90-100KPA range. The rev limit is easy to change. Get a copy of BluCats to play with the shifting. You will also find that it probably needs 350 injectors or more fuel pressure. I doubt you will be able to get any more fuel to it as the stock injectors at the stock fuel pressure are already maxed out at higher rpm. I would suggest shifting around 5,000 rpm. While it may rev 5,500 its kinda hard on the engine and the factory valve springs have given up the ghost well before that. Speaking of valve springs, upgrade those LB9 springs before you put the heads on. Something like a "Z28" spring would be a nice improvement. I would eliminate the rotators and get a normal retainer and get the shim kit to get the correct installed height.

Thanks, I will play with the shift points first not that the other wont need work but it does pull pretty hard for what it is and it runs real good, It just wants to rev out a little more. I will be using tunercats so I need to familiarize myself before I get in too deep.

I think you are going to run out of fuel injector duty cycle before you reach the higher rev-limit. When that happens the engines tone will change and it will fall flat on its face.
