Tried searching but couldnt see anyone with the same problem. My 700-R4 has started to act a little funny. 2nd->3rd gear will not shift if at WOT. I hav eseen alot about 3rd->4th needing a Corvette piece. Anyone with any idea as to where to start? The car shifts fine for normal driving. Thanks guys.

governor needs attention. probably a spring change or a different weight combo. make sure tv cable is correct too. Is this in the drive 3 position or od position?

 

Yeah that has nothing to do with the 3-4 no WOT upshift. That's supposed to be like that. No 2-3 @ WOT isnt.

 

Ill double check ASAP. It was in the shop fixing some exhaust stuff and they decided to start some ECM tuning. I got a call saying that they could not finish tuning because of this problem. I was told it wouldnt shift even if it was manually shifted and that it only would shift if you backed off. It sounds like the normal 3-4 shift deal. Thanks for the input guys!

 

I have the same problem. I swapped gears in the rear to a 3.73. But say Im rolling and stomp on it.....it will stay in 2nd gear and pink off 6000 (my tack is burried). I let off like 1/2 throttle and then it will shift into 3rd gear.

Same thing going 80 down the highway (in 4th gear), I go WOT, and it will actually down shift down to 2nd gear. If I go like 3/4 of the pedal, then it will downshift to 3rd and take off.
So not only are you having that problem I am too. What do I look for to adjust the TV cable....I have never messed with it before.

the throttle wide open must equal tv cable all the way out. lift the hood. hold the throttle wide open and grab the tv cable does it come out more?
